Financing the ambitious set of the SDGs would require great momentum and collaboration among stakeholders across the economic, social, and environmental spheres. The past few years have seen a strong growth of SDGs-themed investment in the global capital market, highlighting the opportunity that lies for innovative financing instruments such as SDG Bonds—as a strategic new means of raising the much-needed capital from the private sectors to bridge the increasing financing gap in achieving SDGs targets. This is especially critical as the clock is ticking towards 2030.
Recognizing the needs and opportunities, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia and UNDP—under the UN ASSIST Joint Programme—is organizing a regional webinar on “Leveraging Capital for Inclusive Growth & Sustainable Recovery through SDGs Bonds”. The event aims to share insights and experiences in leveraging the capital market for SDGs as well as to raise awareness among broader stakeholders and inspire markets to undertake innovative ways in financing the 2030 Agenda—accelerating inclusive and sustainable recovery.
